Bagus Botanicals came to life in the summer of 2022, nestled in the heart of Topanga Canyon. Edward and Hannah, seeking a break from the relentless rhythm of Los Angeles, stumbled upon something remarkable: kratom. Initially drawn to it as a natural, feel-good alternative to alcohol, their curiosity deepened as they explored its many strains. They quickly realized kratom wasn’t just a mood enhancement—it was also an energizing coffee alternative that fit seamlessly into their pursuit of balanced, natural living.
This discovery sparked more than a fascination; it ignited a purpose. Determined to share the benefits of kratom with others, Edward and Hannah set out to create something rooted in quality, sustainability, and respect for nature. From this vision, Bagus Botanicals was born.
Edward used to co-own a mezcal company but left it all behind to pursue more meaningful work in the plant medicine world. He was drowned out by the constant influence of booze until he found kratom and it brought his zest for life back. United in their newfound passion Edward and Hannah set out to change the kratom industry, focusing on sustainability and ethics.
They searched high and low for the best kratom and found it in the mountains of Borneo where they discovered a cooperative of farms that grows reserve-grade kratom. They were invited to work closely with the farmers and implement fair practices and environmental sustainability into their supply chain. Bagus Botanicals is now recognized for its pure, rich flavor and eco-friendliness.
